About kvalvik

Kevin Kvalvik is a lifetime educator, part-time writer, and full-time parent. Kvalvik received his Masters in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1999. While there he served as a teaching fellow in the area of educational software design. In the following years he was the acting Director of the Swysgood Technology Center on the campus of the University of Montana Western, where he wrote the university’s technology plan and designed professional development opportunities for the faculty and administration. Kvalvik also has worked extensively with the K12 community, where he has taught middle-school and high school, and has served as English department chair and county department chair. In addition to these experiences he has was also contracted to write a technology curriculum for the state of North Carolina and has presented papers at national conferences on both technology and learning. He is currently the CEO for an Educational technology firm, Shadowbox Design, which creates media and applications for higher ed textbook companies.
